Management Lessons from a 500 rupee note

Prakash Iyer, Managing Director, Kimberly-Clark Lever and Executive
Coach shares two important management lessons he learnt from a
500-rupee note. Read on: -

It happened some years ago but I can recall the evening like it
happened just last week.

I was in an audience listening to a motivational guru. The speaker
whipped out his wallet and pulled out a five hundred-rupee note.
Holding it up, he asked, "Who wants this five hundred rupee note?"
Lots of hands went up. Including mine.
A slow chorus began to build as people began to shout "Me!" "Me!"  I
began to wonder who the lucky one would be who the speaker would
choose. And I also secretly wondered - and I am sure others did too -
why he would simply give away five hundred rupees.
Even as the shouts of "I want it" grew louder, I noticed a young woman
running down the aisle. She ran up onto the stage, went up to the
speaker, and grabbed the five hundred-rupee note from his hand.

"Well done, young lady," said the speaker into the microphone.  "Most
of us just wait for good things to happen. That's of no use. You've
got to make things happen."  The speaker's words have stayed with me
ever since. 'Simply thinking about doing something is of no use' Our
lives are like that. We all see opportunities around us. We all want
the good things.
But the problem is we don't take action.  We all want the five
hundred rupee notes on offer. But we don't make the move. We look at
it longingly. Get up, and do something about it. Don't worry about
what other people might think. Take action.  Several years later, it
was another day, another time. And another motivational guru.  As I
watched him pull out a five hundred rupee note and hold it up for all
to see, I thought I knew what he was going to do next.

But he just asked a simple question. "How much is this worth?"  "Five
Hundred rupees!" the crowd yelled in unison.
"Right," said the speaker. He then took the note and crumpled it into
a ball and asked "How much is it worth now?"  "Five Hundred rupees!"
screamed the audience.  He then threw the note on the ground, stamped
all over it and picked up the note and asked one more time: "And how
much is it worth now?"  "Five Hundred rupees!" was the response.
"I want you to remember this," said the speaker.  "Just because
someone crumples it, or stamps on it, the value of the note does not
diminish.
All of you should all be like the five hundred rupee note.

In our lives, there will be times when we feel crushed, stamped over,
beaten. But never let your self-worth diminish. Just because someone
chooses to crush you - that doesn't change your worth one bit!

Never mess with an older woman

An older lady gets pulled over for speeding...

Older Woman: Is there a problem, officer?

Officer: Ma'am, you were speeding.

Older Woman: Oh, I see.

Officer: Can I see your license please?

Older Woman: I'd give it to you but I don't have one.

Officer: Don't have one?

Older Woman: Lost it, 4 years ago for drunk driving.

Officer: I see...Can I see your vehicle registration papers please.

Older Woman: I can't do that.

Officer: Why not?

Older Woman: I stole this car.

Officer: Stole it?

Older Woman: Yes, and I killed and hacked up the owner.

Officer: You what?

Older Woman: His body parts are in plastic bags in the trunk if you want to see

The Officer looks at the woman and slowly backs away to his car and calls for back up. Within minutes 5 police cars circle the car. A senior officer slowly approaches the car, clasping his half drawn gun.

Officer 2: Ma'am, could you step out of your vehicle please!

The woman steps out of her vehicle.

Older woman: Is there a problem sir?

Officer 2: One of my officers told me that you have stolen this car and murdered the owner.

Older Woman: Murdered the owner?

Officer 2: Yes, could you please open the trunk of your car, please.

The woman opens the trunk, revealing nothing but an empty trunk.

Officer 2: Is this your car, ma'am?

Older Woman: Yes, here are the registration papers.

The officer is quite stunned.

Officer 2: One of my officers claims that you do not have a driving license.

The woman digs into her handbag and pulls out a clutch purse and hands it to the officer.

The officer examines the license. He looks quite puzzled.

Officer 2: Thank you ma'am, one of my officers told me you didn't have a license, that you stole this car, and that you murdered and hacked up the owner.

Older Woman: Bet the liar told you I was speeding, too.

Don't Mess With Old Ladies

If you want to brighten someone's day, pass this on to someone you know. !

I just did.

Cheers! Dr Mahinder Singh

Capital suggestion - By Dr Farrukh Saleem

The two Ambani brothers can buy 100 percent of every company listed on the
Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) and would still be left with $30 billion to
spare. The four richest Indians can buy up all goods and services produced
over a year by 169 million Pakistanis and still be left with $60 billion to
spare. The four richest Indians are now richer than the forty richest
Chinese.

In November, Bombay Stock Exchange's benchmark Sensex flirted with 20,000
points. As a consequence, Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Ind ustries became a
$100 billion company (the entire KSE is capitalized at $65 billion). Mukesh
owns 48 percent of Reliance.

In November, comes Neeta's birthday. Neeta turned f orty-four three weeks
ago. Look what she got from her husband as her birthday present: A
sixty-million dollar jet with a custom fitted master bedroom, bathroom with
mood lighting, a sky bar, entertainment cabins, satellite television,
wireless communication and a separate cabin with game consoles. Neeta is
Mukesh Ambani's wife, and Mukesh is not India 's richest but t he second
richest.

Mukesh is now building his new home, Residence Antillia (after a mythical,
phantom island somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean ). At a cost of $1 billion
this would be the most expensive home on the face of the planet. At 173
meters tall Mukesh's new family residence, for a family of six, will be the
equivalent of a 60-storeyed building. The first six floors are reserved for
parking. The seventh floor is for car servicing and maintenance. The eighth
floor houses a mini-theatre. Then there's a health club, a gym and a
swimming pool. Two floors are reserved for Ambani family's guests. Four flo
ors above the guest floors are family floors all with a superb view of the
Arabian Sea . On top of everything are three helipads. A staff of 600 is
expected to care for the family and their family home.

In 2004, India became the 3rd most attractive foreign direct investment
destination. Pakistan wasn't even in the top 25 countries. In 2004, the
United Nations, the representative body of 192 sovereign member states, had
requested the Election Commission of India to assist the UN in the holding
elections in Al Jumhuriyah al Iraqiyah and Dowlat-e Eslami-ye Afghanestan.
Why the Election Commission of India and not the Election Commission of
Pakistan ? After all, Islamabad is closer to Kabul than is Delhi .

Imagine, 12 percent of all American scientists are of Indian origin; 38
percent of doctors in America are Indian; 36 percent of NASA scientists are
Indians; 34 percent of Microsoft employees are Indians; and 28 percent of
IBM employees are Indians.

For the record: Sabeer Bhatia created and founded Hotmail. Sun Microsystems
was founded by Vinod Khosla. The Intel Pentium processor, that runs 90
percent of all computers, was fathered by Vinod Dham. Rajiv Gupta
co-invented Hewlett Packard's E-speak project. Four out of ten Silicon
Valley start-ups are run by Indians. Bollywood produces 800 movies per year
and s ix Indian ladies have won Miss Universe/Miss World titles over the
past 10 years.

For the record: Azim Premji, the richest Muslim entrepreneur on the face of
the planet, was born in Bombay and now lives in Bangalore.India now has
more than three dozen billionaires; Pakistan has none (not a single dollar
billionaire).

The other amazing aspect is the rapid pace at which India is creating
wealth. In 2002, Dhirubhai Ambani, Mukesh and Anil Ambani's father, left
his two sons a fortune worth $2.8 billion. In 2007, their combined wealth
stood at $94 billion. On 29 October 2007, as a result of the stock market
rally and the appreciation of the Indian rupee, Mukesh became the richest
person in the world, with net worth climbing to US$63.2 billion (Bill
Gates, the richest American, stands at around $56 billion).
Indians and Pakistanis have the same Y-chromosome haplogroup. We have the
same genetic sequence and the same genetic marker (namely: M124). We have
the sam e DNA molecule, the same DNA sequence. Our culture, our traditions
and our cuisine are all the same. We watch the same movies and sing the
same songs. What is it that Indians have and we don't?

My heroine was Babita, already a popular actress then. Though I had lots of confidence, I was shy in facing the camera initially. In my first three shots, I had to perform with stress on my body language and dialogue delivery. Though I was right with my dialogues, my movements were not up to the mark. Today that is 18th July’12 this great actor, a great human being and a huge huge Super Star has left us leaving a huge void in our life. He was reported to be hospitalized form 4-5 occasions in Mumbai and finally he quit! We all love you Rajesh Khanna, RIP.

Bloggers increase your page view – Traffic inflow

Dear Readers, I have been working hard since last 2-3 months in order to increase the traffic towards my blog and some of the vital points which I followed and succeeded are as follows:-
     I.            Share your article with Google plus
II.            Share your blog ID with a larger group like tweeter, Facebook  and Orkut
III.            Share your blog ID and the article’s URL with all your friends via email
IV.            Try not to copy your content from others
  V.            Try to upload some related pic with your article
VI.            Try to choose some good key words and for that you need to do a lot of researches to make sure that you succeed in targeting your targeted readers
VII.            Never try to restrict your article when it comes to word, let your imagination and your ideas flow when you write something meaningful
VIII.            Originality is key if you really want to increase your traffic
Follow these simple but effective points and I am sure you all will be able to increase your page views and never, never, never give up. It has been observed that on any specific day Google shows some 50k new bloggers coming in and devoting huge time but with the time the interest part goes down and by the end of 3 months regular write-ups goes down drastically by 70%, which is why a good blogger never stops researching, reading and writing. They keep on motivating the entire society by motivating their self and by not stopping their imagination.
India Being one of the largest democratic country also lacks in expressing their views on a consistent basis, bloggers comes in and goes out without making much impact on blogging world. Hence, this is my request not to stop writing and keeping yourself busy with a lot of reading before attempting any topics.
Never confined only to one topic, try and explore new avenues and new style of writing, even though you get a bad rating, still you keep on writing and try to improve your skills in order to reach the level of excellence!
Friends, all the best and keep going!!

The Gift Of Insults

There once lived a great warrior. Though quite old, he still was able to defeat any challenger. His reputation extended far and wide throughout the land and many students gathered to study under him.
One day an infamous young warrior arrived at the village. He was determined to be the first man to defeat the great master. Along with his strength, he had an uncanny ability to spot and exploit any weakness in an opponent. He would wait for his opponent to make the first move, thus revealing a weakness, and then would strike with merciless force and lightning speed. No one had ever lasted with him in a match beyond the first move.
Much against the advice of his concerned students, the old master gladly accepted the young warrior's challenge. As the two squared off for battle, the young warrior began to hurl insults at the old master. He threw dirt and spit in his face. For hours he verbally assaulted him with every curse and insult known to mankind. But the old warrior merely stood there motionless and calm. Finally, the young warrior exhausted himself. Knowing he was defeated, he left feeling shamed.
Somewhat disappointed that he did not fight the insolent youth, the students gathered around the old master and questioned him. "How could you endure such an indignity? How did you drive him away?"
"If someone comes to give you a gift and you do not receive it," the master replied, "to whom does the gift belong?"

Seattle Special Olympics

A few years ago at the Seattle Special Olympics, nine
contestants, all physically or mentally disabled, assembled at
the starting line for the 100 yard dash.

At the gun, they all started out, not exactly in a dash, but with
a relish to run the race to the finish and win. All, that is,
except one boy who stumbled on the asphalt, tumbled over a couple
of times and began to cry. The other eight heard the boy. They
slowed down and looked back. They all turned around and went
back. Every one of them. One girl with Down's Syndrome bent down
and kissed him and said," This will make it better." All nine
linked arms and walked across the finish line together. Everyone
in the stadium stood, and the cheering went on for several
minutes.

People who were there are still telling the story. Why?
Because deep down we know one thing.
What matters most in this life is more than winning for
ourselves. What truly matters in this life is helping others win,
even if it means slowing down and changing our course.

SUCCESS DOES NOT HAPPEN IN ISOLATION

There was a farmer who grew superior quality and award-winning corn. Each
year he entered his corn in the state fair where it won honour and prizes.

One year a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learnt something
interesting about how he grew it. The reporter discovered that the farmer
shared his seed corn with his neighbours'.

"How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbours when
they are entering corn in competition with yours each year?" the reporter
asked.

"Why sir, "said the farmer, "didn't you know? The wind picks up pollen from
the ripening corn and swirls it from field to field. If my neighbours grow
inferior, sub-standard and poor quality corn, cross-pollination will
steadily degrade the quality of my corn.

If I am to grow good corn, I must help my neighbours grow good corn."

The farmer gave a superb insight into the connectedness of life. His corn

cannot improve unless his neighbour's corn also improves.
So it is in the
other dimensions!

Those who choose to be at harmony must help their neighbours and colleagues
to be at peace. Those who choose to live well must help others to live
well. The value of a life is measured by the lives it touches.

SUCCESS DOES NOT HAPPEN IN ISOLATION. IT IS VERY OFTEN A PARTICIPATIVE AND
COLLECTIVE PROCESS.

So share the good practices, ideas, new learning's with your family, team members, neighbours.

The Wolves Within

An old Grandfather, whose grandson came to him with anger at a
Schoolmate who had done him an injustice, said, "Let me tell you
a story. I too, at times, have felt a great hate for those that
have taken so much, with no sorrow for what they do. But hate
wears you down, and does not hurt your enemy. It is like taking
poison and wishing your enemy would die. I have struggled with
these feelings many times."

He continued, "It is as if there are two wolves inside me; one is
good and does no harm. He lives in harmony with all around him
and does not take offense when no offense was intended. He will
only fight when it is right to do so, and in the right way."

"But the other wolf, ah! He is full of anger. The littlest thing
will set him into a fit of temper. He fights everyone, all the
time, for no reason. He cannot think because his anger and hate
are so great. It is hard to live with these two wolves inside me,
for both of them try to dominate my spirit."

The boy looked intently into his Grandfather's eyes and asked,
"Which one wins, Grandfather?"

The Grandfather solemnly said, "The one I feed."

We have a lot more left in us

If you think that there is one difficult customer who makes going tough for you, then this is a really good read for each one of us. There's (Always) More Left In The Tube Our biggest breakthroughs often occur when we think there's nothing left in our tube.
 by Jeff Keller

When I shave each morning, I use shaving cream that comes out of a small "travel size" aerosol can. The can is only about three inches high. I'd been using that little can for several weeks, when I realized the can was getting very light. I immediately thought, "Can't be much more left in here." I was just about to throw it in the wastebasket when I figured I could eke out another shave or two. Much to my amazement, the shaving cream kept coming out day after day after day. I ended up getting 19 more shaves from that little dispenser! And to think that I was just about to throw the can away. I'm sure you've experienced the same thing with a tube of toothpaste or shampoo. It looks like the tube is just about empty, but you keep folding the tube and squeezing - and you get days or weeks of extra use from the supposedly empty tube.

There's a lesson here for all of us. We work toward a goal and
Sometimes get frustrating results for a long time. Things aren't working out as we had anticipated. We think there's not much left in "our tube," and we give some thought to quitting. The reality is that we have a lot more left in the tube, if we'll only continue to believe in ourselves and keep moving forward. In fact, our biggest breakthroughs often occur when we think there's
Nothing left in our tube. You see, there's a polarity to life, and when you experience setbacks and disappointments, these are often balanced by significant achievements. Yet most people quit before the "turnaround" happens. Napoleon Hill, one of the most insightful success writers of all time, described this phenomenon in his classic self-help book Think & Grow
Rich. In the early 1900s, Hill spent decades interviewing more than 500 of the most successful people in the United States - people like Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and Andrew Carnegie. Hill reported that hundreds of these successful individuals told him that their greatest success came just one step after they suffered their greatest defeat. Harriet Beecher Stowe put the principle this way: "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you until it seems that you cannot hold on for a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn." About 10 years ago, Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen began pitching their book to various publishers. The first 30 rejected their book. They could have thrown in the towel then, believing the tube was empty. Then they got the 31st rejection ... and then the 32nd rejection. Was the tube empty? They didn't think so. On the 140th attempt, they finally got a publisher to say yes to their book. That book was Chicken Soup for the Soul, and it spawned a series of books that has now sold more than 80 million copies!

Stop Getting Angry on Anger

Whenever you feel anger rising in you, remember these steps:

1. Accept your anger first. 'Yes, I am feeling angry.'

2. There is no need to be angrier about being angry. 'Anger on anger' is the result of ignorance.

3. When there is no anger on anger, then it will be fairly simple to get rid of anger.

4. Repeat to yourself that now that this anger has arisen, there is something I need to act upon. This action ultimately leads to my growth.

5. Whenever there is anger, it would have left you with a lesson… a lesson of understanding. A lesson that would have taught you the art of being peaceful even while in tension.

Happy Father’s Day

The United States is one of the few countries in the world that has an official day on which fathers are honored by their children. On the third Sunday in June, fathers all across the United States and world are given presents, treated to dinner or otherwise made to feel special.
India is a sentimental nation also not far from celebrating such wonderful festivals, however we still believe that each day is special in which we have been taking breaths and getting love, support and affection from our parents, Hence each day should be treated as Father’s or Mother’s day to make sure that their love vice-a-versa reaches each other.
In my case, I am blessed to have a father like mine; Mr. Subhash Rana is a 65 years old gentleman, who has been instrumental in curving my life into a positive one. Starting from schooling to college to jobs, I have seen my father changing gears in his attitude. He was always tough to impress at school times, very easy to communicate and reachable person in college days and very wise person to guide us in our professional or personal crisis at this point in time.
Millions of fathers support their children, love them and care for them but in my case my Dad was a bit different. He was rock solid at all the time and have always made sure that all his 3 kids gets best out of him when it comes to learning and paving the path in this tough competitive world.
After my fatal accident in 2002, I became a paraplegic and left with no other option then to ride myself in a wheel chair. At this hour of need he was always with me and taught me, guided me and motivated me to become what I am today. He was thoroughly backed me up at the very critical condition of my health and today, he takes pride for me to start my life from where I lived. Today he is happy to see me going to office, playing wheelchair tennis, working for unprivileged children in an Ngo and also for my fighting spirit throughout this year.
I think it was his motivation, care and support that helped to swim across this huge ocean of difficulties and with him I always think I am safe, secure and I feel very special. I know a few of my friends who had lost their parents in a very young age and I can actually understand their pain.
Hence, this is my request and a suggestion to each one of you to please celebrate this day regularly, hug your parents, spent some time with them and give them their due respect, after all they have been so kind to us to bring us to this level.
Dad, I love you and would love to see you as my Dad in all my coming birth on this mother earth.

Would be President of India Mr. Pranab Mukherjee

India has always seen learned Presidents in the past. Current President of India is Mrs. Pratibha Singh Patil who has been instrumental in sorting out a lot of issues in the current politics of India. She has been a clam and thoughtful customer and has been handling all affairs with a great deal of intelligence.
Currently the race is among Ex-President Mr. APJ Abdul Kalam and Pranab Mukherjee. Mr. Kalam as a president was impressive. He is known as the father of missiles in India. His thinking and patriotism is class apart. Be believed in taking action and had always taken initiatives to improve the mind-set of general publics in the form of write-ups, a column in a newspaper and also while addressing the country in National television. He has been one of the powerful yet so simple President India has ever produced in the past.
India is now on the way to see yet another President who is thoughtful, has an experience of around 5 decades of handling politics in the country and had handled challenges in as a Finance Minister and as a Defense minister in the country. His father was a freedom fighter from whom he has learned the meaning of patriotism. He has been attached with congress in India from last 50 years and was a very powerful member of congress from the time of Mrs. Indira Gandhi. His pet name is Poltu. He as a person is a true Bengali who spent 10 days in performing Bengali rituals and Pooja at the time of Durga Pooja in his native place. He is very close to his friends back home and a very polite and down to earth person.
After the death of Mrs. India Gandhi everyone thought that he could be our Next Prime minister but Indian history was waiting to see new face called Mr. Rajiv Gandhi who was also known to be the Father of Computers and technologies in India. He at that point in time was not able to digest that fact and hence, left Congress for some time. After the assassination of Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, he again joined back, as congress needed as person Like Pranab who was wise, trustworthy and experienced campaigner who could show the path forward. He with his long chain of experience handled a lot of strong portfolios and with his strong character helped the congress party to swim across a lot of difficult tasks safely.
Whenever I had failed in any task or failed in any interview, my well-wishers always shown me the path by saying God has some different and good role for me stored in the future, I used to think my near and dear ones are calming me and making me realizes to face the truth and motivating me to go ahead in life. But now, I realized that how wise they were and how truth it was to say that God has something good for me and here in case of Mr. Pranab Mukherjee also this statement is absolutely true. At that point in time he missed to occupy the post of Prime minister of India and now God is about to bestow him with a position which is above Prime minister’s role and this is the beauty of life.
In the Indian Politics, Mr. Mukherjee’s colleague addresses his with Dada, which means elder brother. Now Dada’s story gives us an insight of very strong and thoughtful lesson for all of us, with sheer hard work and commitment a person like Pranab Mukherjee who comes from a middle class family and a very humble background can acquire such name, fame and respect in the society. He has been one of the role models for a lot of Indian wannabes. At the age of above 65 he has been working for 16hrs and has been achieving each and every single task with such grace and passion. Another great thing about Dada is that he does not lose heart; he keeps on working and leaves everything to God. I saw a Hindi movie called “3 Idiots”, in which the Hero, Amir Khan, said don’t follow the success, instead become knowledgeable and attained to excellence, success will then follow you”. How true it is in context with Dada’s story, Dada becomes master of his field and now the success is chasing him. Wow Dada!! Thanks for motivating all of us and we would like to see something different from you in your new role, very similar to what you have been doing all this year in your current role. We all know that you are a versatile and a true patriot; we all love you and all the best for your future role in Indian politics!

World Environment Day

This year sees the 40th anniversary of the event that led to the establishment of World Environment Day. WED, as it is often called, was established by the United Nations General Assembly to mark the start of the UN Conference on the Human Environment held in Stockholm from 5thto 16th June 1972. The first World Environment Day was on 5th June 1973.
The Stockholm Conference was the first occasion that world leaders met to discuss the political, social and economic problems of the global environment with a view to actually doing something about it.
Each year World Environment Day is hosted by a different country and this year the host is Brazil and the theme is Green Economy: Does it include you?
This can be summed up as being a socially inclusive, low carbon economy that is efficient with its resources.
India is also not far from contributing to save our Planet earth. As a part of social duty corporates from all sectors are coming forward and contributing. Corporates in India have stopped using plastics or papers cups for tea coffee. Many corporates are coming forward and planting millions of trees and to new a few are Reliance India, Cocacola and Vodafone India. Corporates have been collecting E-wastes and are sending it for recycling. Nokia around the world are planting a tree in lieu of one old cellphones which is again a great gesture in order to contribute some positives towards this special day. Entire world have been contributing and celebrating “Earth Day” by switching off their lights for an hour’s time. Entire world has stopped using papers instead of that we all are using internet and doing paperless work across the world.
In spite of taking so many initiatives in all corners and from all walks of life we have been failing to produce desire results and the reason for the same is that we have been producing more pollution than we have been working on saving the earth. All developed countries are emitting millions of tons of wastes and pollution, which is again deteriorating our progress towards saving the environment.
The 2012 gathering in Brazil is being hailed as one of the largest and most important gatherings in the history of the United Nations. In addition to 2012 being an important date in the history of World Environment Day, it is also the 20thanniversary of the first Earth Summit that was held in Rio in 1992.
This year's Rio+20 Earth Summit is seen as a once in a generation opportunity to set the world on a path leading to a sustainable low-carbon green economy. It is confidently expected that at least 130 world heads of state will be attending the gathering.
Unfortunately the major problem facing the world is that in spite of the determined efforts in recent years to improve the environment, according to some experts the situation is actually getting worse rather than better.
A report from the World Wildlife Fund cites a combination of swelling populations, mass migration to cities, increased energy use and soaring carbon dioxide emissions that are putting a greater squeeze on the planet's resources than ever before. Particularly hard hit are animals and plants whose diversity depends on a clean water supply, plus a range of other natural
Climate-warming carbon emissions have increased by 40% since 1992, but two thirds of that increase has occurred since 2002.
In the past 20 years the populations of the world's cities has risen by around 45% and urban residents typically have much larger carbon footprints than their rural counterparts. In China, for instance, the average Beijing resident has a footprint three times the average for the rest of the country.
The clear message of World Environment Day is that everyone has a duty to push for a Green Economy and hopefully the world leaders at Rio+20 will take this forward. Turning things around will be difficult; it will need unity and strength of purpose, but it simply must be done.

Satyamev Jayate – Don’t Hate Love

Satyamev Jayate in many ways has brought a lot of positives with it, I still remember the day when we as a kid used to wait for Super Sunday to watch all mythological and cartoon programs, all the family members including Grandma and Grandpa used to sit in the Hall in front of the TV. They used to sip their tea/coffee and we used to have our milk, chocolates and a lot of fun with our friends and counterparts, I remember those moments often before going to bed in the night but look that day has finally been bestowed by Amir and his team in the form of Satyamev Jayate. Today again with our breakfast, tea, coffee and other eatables sit in front of the TV and enjoy the learning and change our soul with positive thinking.
Today’s episode of Satyamev Jayate begins with a couple where the female was normal from a physical point of view but the male was physically challenged. Both of them fall in love with each other and wanted to start a new life together after marrying each other. This is absolutely not normal at least in India. If the girl wants to marry someone who is physically challenged and he is not from the same caste then it’s not acceptable in their vicinity and everyone thinks and treats them as if they have done a big crime. I am being a paraplegic has also faced a similar kind of situation where my wife’s parents were absolutely adamant. They used to make her understand that she will lead a disabled life, she will not be able to relish ever with me, I won’t be able to take care of her, I won’t be able to take her out for outing and many more such negative discernments which is not acceptable. In the society also people see me as a role model but only in front of me, but as soon as, I leave people start talking all the crap about me and my wife. I don’t understand why society always sees the negative part in any one, instead of appreciating a person from marrying a differently abled person like me; they take the advantage of my disability. I am sure, every single differently abled person had to put more than 200% to compete with a normal person and a lot of time they even defeat the so called normal persons, and people still thinks that they are someone who needs our sympathy and they should not be treated as normal or they should not be given a healthy life partner. I think, I have taken birth to prove this and to change the approach of society, community, district, state, country and the entire world that don’t treat us like a debris, given a chance we had and we will prove our metal and we are not disabled we are just differently abled. By the grace of God, I have proven all the proclamations wrong to my wife’s well-wishers. I have been working 10hrs in a day in a multinational company and withdrawing handsome salary, I have been helping my wife with all household works, and we generally go out on the weekends and on long holidays across the country. So, where is the problem, I guess it is only in the mind.
Satyamev Jayate has really done awesome work in researching this topic that if a young wannabe who can have the power to elect his prime minister why he can’t select his life partner. If parents and society won’t change their mentality with the time then it is unquestionably going to produce more and more Manoj and Babbly in the country. I still remember my Grandma reciting my parents love story. It was in the year 1974, some 37 years back, when my mom and dad fall in love and entire society was against my grandma as my Dad was Himachali Punjabi and my mom was a Brahmin Bengali girl. My Grandma single handedly took the decision and gone against the society and relatives to tie their knots. I was just wondering, if 37 years back my Grandma had such a loyal and good vision why can’t we also change our perception and that too in the age of the iPhone, laptops, and multimedia and in 3rd Generation. Enormously thought provoking, we must also change with the world to make this world a better place to live. As sung by MJ “Heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race, there are people dying, care enough for them, and make it a better place for you and for me”. Trust the differently abled people and don’t ever hate love because love is something which connects the entire world and this is the only similarity we have as a human being in every corner of this universe.

KKR - New IPL Champion

IPL (India Premiere League) in India has been a carnival of cricket; due to the cocktail of India’s two most entertaining sector on the same platform makes it a more vibrant and passionate among the Indians. We have been advocating IPL from last 5 years to the world and we have been giving the chance and to exposure some great young talents in India. For new players in India, it is an opportunity to showcase their talents and to share a dressing room with foreign players; on top of that they have been receiving handsome cheques from their respective franchises. 1st season was captured by Rajasthan Royal, and the other 3 times it was captured by Deccan Chargers and Chennai Super King. Best part is that CSK won it two consecutive times and this could have been their 3rd time. Defending champion CSK played like champion team and at last they were defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders.

This was KKR’s maiden victory in last 5 seasons but what a win. For four years they had fought hard to reach this place and finally in the fifth year they managed to reach here. They had a plan for each player and for each game they played. They were not that fast and furious team as a bowling unit; instead they had 3 vital spinners which turned the game for them in the entire season. Match after match they played as a team, they united and worked in such a way that someone clicked from the entire team in each match. Remember it was a long season and they dominated the entire championship like a real Knight Riders. Captain cool of CSK also managed a BIG smile and praised the brave attempt of KKR champs. Here we must have to praise KKR’s captain Gautam Gambhir who is India’s top class opening batsman and KKR’s captain. He hasn't only united the entire team but also prepared his entire team to fight against mighty Mahendra Singh Dhoni. MSD is a BIG name in India and in world cricket. MSD’s few achievements in the recent past are world Twenty20 champion, One Day champion, Stood first in test cricket and had won the IPL for two times. Top of Form

Gautam must have these facts and figures in his mind while competing with Dhoni’s CSK, but having said that Gautam on the other hand was well prepared this time and he worked on his team's strengths and analyzed on his opponent's weakness. In spite of his cheap dismissal in the finals Gautam and his team mates were confident enough to clinch the victory, Bisla from nowhere came to the ground and snatch the victory from CSK’s hand, and this is the power and believes that Gautam and his coach created in the minds of their team members.

Once, I wrote an article on Shahrukh Khan’s behavior on MCA episode. I was very annoyed on his behavior, similarly like me, many more in India who admires him must had felt bad. Actually he is like that, he is a passionate man and he only wants to WIN. I have seen his failures also and sometimes I feel that he is a man who can’t take failure in his life, but does that mean Shahrukh had never faced failure in his life. Oh come on I might be joking. No one in this life has tested success without testing failure in his/her life. I had even heard that he was without food for several days in Mumbai. Moreover in IPL too he tested failure for 4 long years and this time he and his entire team were desperate to win this title at any cost. He was overwhelmed by his team’s performance which lead him to do something mischievous in MCA episode but as a role model and as a celebrity Shahrukh must know his roles and responsibility in the society, He is the one who guides entire young wannabes to the right direction and he if starts doing something which we never expect him to do then it becomes a talk of the town and critics take the driver seat to say all which he as an actor and a respectable person will never like to hear.

After leading Kolkata Knight Riders to its maiden IPL title win, skipper Gautam Gambhir said the victory sends out a message that cricket is a team game and it is not confined to individual performances. Gambhir's strong reaction came when he was asked if team hoped of win when he himself was out early while chasing 191. He was also asked about spinner Sunil Narine's contribution in his side's impressive show this season. But the skipper asserted that his side was out to prove a point that it's the team that wins and deserves credit and not any individual. Gambhir got a bit irritated when he was asked about West Indian spinner Narine's contribution in team's success. "Since the first press conference I did, I've said I hate to talk about individuals. It was not about Sunil Narine. KKR has never been about one individual, whether that's me or someone else. There has been a lot of talk about my form. I got a hundred in Bangladesh, I had a decent ODI series, but it was not about that.

"We all wanted to prove to the nation that cricket is a team sport and credit should go to the team. If you want individual credit you should play tennis, badminton or some individual sport, not a team sport such as cricket. “From the first day I put this to the team: there will be no single day when the credit goes to an individual. Victory always belongs to the team. It was important to prove to the country that cricket is a team game, and hopefully we've gone some way in doing that," he said. When Gambhir was addressing the media, he was not smiling despite a memorable win. Asked about this, he said, "Maybe it has to sink in. Maybe when that happens I'll get a smile on my face. As I said, that's how I've been. It works for me. Being intense does not mean that you're always serious. Sometimes you just want to be in your shell and not show out too many emotions to the world. “When quizzed, how team co-owner Shah Rukh Khan reacted to the last-over win, Gambhir said the Bollywood star has been a good support and deserved this happiness, specially after a few controversies around him. “I can only guess that he should be happy. He's been a great owner. Not once in the tournament has he put any pressure on me or the team. Though we started by losing the first two games, he never interfered with the cricket aspects. “There has been the suggestion that he has interfered in the past, but ever since I was made captain he has not interfered with the cricket. That's the kind of owner you want. It was important for us to win it for him because he's seen a lot of lows and controversies, and when someone's done that it's important they get to savour success when it comes."Gambhir also had special mention for the Kolkata Knight Riders' fans. "KKR fans deserve every bit of the success. They've always backed us. I said this before as well: when things weren't going our way they stood by us, and we wanted to win it for them. This is not our victory; this is a victory for the fans of KKR. I just want to say thank you for all the support and love the fans have given us.

Nevertheless it was a great win from the KKR's point of view and we all appreciate and congratulate Gambir and entire KKR team on their maiden IPL victory and wish them many more such IPL victories in the future!
